A NEW TEXTBOOK FOR GENERAL EDUCATION SCHOOLS HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

A new textbook titled “Literature” has been published in Turkmenistan for Grade 12 students of general education schools. The textbook was authored by G.Sakhatova, O.Durdyyeva, M.Goshayeva, A.Annamyradova, A.Begmyradova, and G.Orazgylyjova and released by the State Publishing Service of Turkmenistan in 2026.
The new publication was developed in accordance with the national curriculum and covers major stages in the development of Turkmen literature. It includes sections on Turkmen literature of the 1960s–1980s, the development of drama, children’s literature, literary translation, literary studies, literary criticism, Independence-era literature, and selected works of world literature.
Special attention is given to the works of prominent Turkmen writers and poets, including Berdinazar Hudaynazarov, Kerim Gurbannepesov, Naryman Jumayev, Gurbannazar Ezizov, and other authors. The textbook aims to broaden students’ literary knowledge, strengthen analytical thinking, and improve the quality of humanities education.
