Number of schools in Ashgabat to reach 160 in 2026

In 2026, the number of general education schools in Ashgabat is planned to be increased to 160. In addition, the education sector foresees an increase in the number of preschool institutions to 193 and sports schools to 21.
Among the key facilities is the complex of buildings of Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction with a capacity of 5,000 places, the construction of which is scheduled to be completed this year.
At the same time, large-scale efforts are underway in the capital to modernize the urban environment: the architectural appearance of the city is being updated, green areas are being expanded, new residential complexes are being built, and engineering and technical systems are being modernized.
