Turkmen schoolchildren and university students win over 800 medals at International Olympiads

School students and university students of Turkmenistan won 807 medals at international subject olympiads and competitions held between January and April 2026. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Mammedov at a government meeting held via a digital system on May 1.

According to the report, during the reporting period, the country’s higher education institutions organized six international olympiads and seven international scientific and practical conferences. In addition, the III International Mathematics Olympiad among school students was held.

In order to improve the scientific sphere, research activities in priority areas of science and technology were coordinated.

In the healthcare sector, advanced methods of disease prevention and treatment were introduced into practical medicine. With funds from the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, surgeries and treatment courses were carried out for sick children.

National teams of Turkmenistan in various sports won 169 medals at international competitions.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to keep the organization of work in the fields of science, education, healthcare, and sports under constant attention. The Head of State underlined the importance of providing youth with modern education and fostering a younger generation with broad worldviews and knowledge in the field of innovative technologies.
