On May 11, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, and the Vice-Rector of the International University for the Humanities and Development, Nurmuhammet Shihlyyev, met with the President of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Nobuo Haruna. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
As noted in the report, during the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for further development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture, as well as issues regarding academic exchanges of students and faculty members. The interlocutors paid special attention to expanding cooperation in the study of foreign languages and the organization of educational programs between the higher education institutions of the two countries.
The parties noted the importance of exploring the experience and capabilities of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in implementing joint projects and scientific research.
The interlocutors expressed confidence that Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the humanitarian and educational spheres will continue to develop successfully.
