Issues of cooperation with the TASS news agency were discussed

On March 28, 2024, at the MFA of Turkmenistan, negotiations were held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the delegation of the Russian news agency TASS, headed by the First Deputy Director General of TASS Mikhail Gusman, who arrived to participate in the ceremony dedicated to the declaration of the ancient Turkmen city of Anau - cultural capital of the Turkic world. During the meeting, the parties outlined the main directions of bilateral cooperation in the information sphere, primarily based on the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of exchange of news materials between the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) and the Russian news agency TASS. An important factor in cooperation with the news agency in timely coverage of events in Turkmenistan was the accreditation of the agency’s journalist with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen side also emphasized that the establishment and development of partnerships of Turkmenistan in the field of information policy and media is one of the primary tasks identified by the President of Turkmenistan in order to increase the level of international cooperation in this area, further integrate national media into the global information space and comprehensive coverage of the life of the country, interstate relations, increasing the authority of the Turkmen state in the international arena.

The parties once again emphasized the importance of establishing the work of news agencies and agreed to support the exchange of news in the field of achievements of the two countries.
