A meeting of the international Council of business Cooperation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Caspian region was held in Astrakhan

On October 30-31, 2024, the XXI meeting of international Council of business Cooperation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Caspian region was held in Astrakhan. The event is organized by the Astrakhan chamber of Commerce and Industry Union with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Russian-Iranian Business Council and the Government of the Astrakhan region.

The plenary session «Caspian Business Experience and Prospects for Effective Partnership» was held on October 30. The Consul of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) made a welcoming speech at the meeting, noting that Turkmenistan, as one of the key countries of the Caspian region, consistently supports comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation between the states of the Caspian basin.

The event was also attended by the Governor of the Astrakhan region, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as representatives of chambers of commerce and industry, state and regional executive and legislative authorities, representatives of the business community of Turkmenistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as experts, scientists and political scientists, leaders of public organizations of the Caspian Sea countries.

During the thematic sections the participants discussed the issues of comprehensive expansion of cooperation between the Caspian region countries in the context of the development of the international transport corridor “North-South”, in particular, the issues of modernization of port infrastructure, as well as the development of tourism, trade and economic relations, etc.
