Diplomatic relations have been established between Turkmenistan and the Principality of Liechtenstein

On November 1, 2024, the signing ceremony of the Joint Communique on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Turkmenistan and the Principality of Liechtenstein took place in the office of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the United Nations in New York City.
Before the signing ceremony, a conversation took place between the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, Axoltan Atayeva, and the Permanent Representative of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the UN, Christian Venaveser.
The Permanent Representatives confirmed the interest of the two countries in strengthening friendly relations and developing bilateral political, economic and humanitarian cooperation.
The importance of expanding cooperation on the platform of international organizations, primarily within the framework of the United Nations, was noted.
The parties discussed issues on the UN agenda of interest to Turkmenistan and the Principality of Liechtenstein, in particular, strengthening peace and trust, promoting preventive diplomacy, international sports ties and other issues of sustainable development.
