A meeting was held with representatives of higher educational institutions of the Czech Republic

On November 4, at Magtymguly Turkmen State University, under the leadership of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Turkmenistan Ljubomir Frebort, representatives of higher educational institutions of the Czech Republic discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of science and education with the rector of the university O. Ovezsahedov.

At the meeting, the Rector of Magtymguly Turkmen State University O.Ovezsahedov, emphasized that strengthening and expanding cooperation with the countries of the world in the field of science and education is one of the main directions of the country’s foreign policy rooted in the policy of the Neutrality, good neighborliness, and the foreign policy of “Open Doors” under the wise leadership of the Esteemed President, who successfully continues the great initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people during the revival of the new era of the state.

Then the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Turkmenistan Ljubomir Frebort stated that the country he represents wants to cooperate and share the experience of higher educational institutions. The Ambassador then gave floor to the guests. Lenka Shwesova, Head of the Business School of University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, Czech Republic, Przhemysl Palka, Deputy Dean for International Relations at the Faculty of Management and Economics at Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Tomash Shubrt Dean of the Faculty of Manufacture and Economics of Czech University of Agriculture in Prague, Silvie Kobzev Kotaskova Deputy Dean for Education and Pedagogical activities of the Faculty of Manufacture and Economics of Czech University of Agriculture in Prague, Professor Słavomir Horak Associate Professor of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University of Prague presented the history and structure of the higher educational institutions they represent. They talked about the work being done in the field of training high-level specialists, active faculties, and the directions of training students.

Rector of Magtymguly Turkmen State University O. Ovezsahedov, noted that great importance is attached to future cooperation with prestigious higher educational institutions abroad, and recalled that the “Memorandum of Understanding between Magtymguly Turkmen State University and the University for Foreigners of Perugia” was recently signed. In this regard, he expressed his confidence that cooperation with higher educational institutions of the Czech Republic in the field of science and education will be more widespread.

Also, Rector invited professors and students of higher educational institutions of the Czech Republic to participate in the III International Olympiad in Chemistry and international scientific conference that will be held concurrently with the Olympiad from November 25 to November 30, 2024.

He also mentioned that next year’s adoption of the Resolution “2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust” by the General Assembly of the United Nations, on the initiative of Turkmenistan, is a clear proof of international cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their gratitude to the Heads of the two countries for the ongoing cooperation in intergovernmental relations, including in the field of science and education.
