From November 25 to 26, 2024, a training seminar was held in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye, organized by the Statistical, Economic, and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC). The seminar was attended by representatives of the ministries of youth and sports of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), including W. Gutlyyev, Head of the Youth Policy Department of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The seminar’s agenda included discussions on the current state of youth in OIC member countries and effective methods for integrating the OIC Youth Strategy into the national programs of these states.
According to data presented by SESRIC, the youth population in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is approximately 367 million, which, as of 2023, accounts for 29.5% of the world’s youth population. It is projected that this figure will reach 380 million by 2025. In this context, the seminar focused on organizing regular discussions on global youth issues, developing the OIC Youth Strategy, and integrating it into national programs.
It was particularly emphasized that such training seminars, held within the framework of effective international cooperation in the field of youth policy, play a crucial role in enhancing the social activity of younger generations and further strengthening international relations.
