“Ylym” Publishing House has published a new textbook “Comparative Grammar of the Turkmen and Russian Languages”, the authors of which are famous specialists S.Hydyrov and G.Ilyasova. This publication was prepared in a strict accordance with the approved standard curriculum for this subject for higher education establishments of Turkmenistan.
This book explores in detail common and specific phenomena of these two languages which differ in their systems, at the levels of phonetics, lexicology, phraseology, and morphology. The substantive section covers key issues of linguistic typology, genealogical classification, and specific features of the composition and systems of the vowel and consonant phonemes in the compared languages. While mastering this material, students can successfully relay on the basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills they acquired in their theoretical course in the Russian language, theory of translation, and history of language, as well as during their research and pre-graduation internships.
The main feature of the new textbook is its highly practical focus. A comprehensive comparative analysis allows future teachers to effectively predict and prevent various interference errors that students encounter while learning Russian. The book contains a preface explaining the topicality of the topic, thematic sections, a conclusion, and a bibliography.
