Political Broadcast "Turkmenistan — Venue of Friendship"
This political broadcast, prepared by the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University in cooperation with the "Altyn Asyr" TV channel of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting, and Cinematography, was dedicated to the historical significance of the working visits of the Esteemed President to the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.
On October 15, 2026, the visit of Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Azerbaijan to participate in the regular summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) served as another proof of our country's high prestige in the international arena.
The Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia is a highly representative and prestigious intergovernmental forum aimed at strengthening peace, stability, and cooperation across the Asian region. This Conference covers five main dimensions — political, economic, environmental, human, and response to new threats and challenges — serving as a favorable platform for multilateral and multi-vector dialogue.
The participation of the Turkmen delegation in this high-level forum demonstrates our country's unwavering commitment to the principles of multilateral dialogue in discussing key issues on the regional and international agendas.
Harnessing the potential of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia opens broad horizons for expanding cooperation in fields such as transport and logistics, sustainable energy, environmental protection, and climate change mitigation. As an observer state in the Conference, Turkmenistan views this platform as an effective tool for building trust-based relations and actively contributes to developing balanced approaches to strengthening the atmosphere of mutual respect across the Eurasian space.
On October 16, 2026, our Arkadagly Hero Serdar attended the Leaders' Summit of the UN Biodiversity Conference in the Republic of Armenia.
Effective intergovernmental relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia are built upon traditional principles of friendship, mutual respect, and trust. Consistent high-level dialogue fosters the active development and enrichment of trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation with new substance. Furthermore, our countries successfully collaborate within major international organizations.
The Leaders' Summit, held in Yerevan within the framework of the UN Biodiversity Conference, is aimed at consolidating the efforts of the global community to protect natural ecosystems. Amid growing threats related to climate change, this prestigious platform enables heads of state to formulate political mechanisms to ensure environmental sustainability worldwide.
Turkmenistan's environmental policy has been elevated to one of the key priorities of state development, reflected in the large-scale national programs being implemented. Our country proceeds from the conviction that environmental protection and the rational use of natural resources are indispensable prerequisites for the well-being of present and future generations. In this regard, activities carried out in this direction encompass a wide range of measures to combat desertification, preserve biodiversity, and ensure efficient water resource management.
In the international arena, Turkmenistan consistently puts forward concrete initiatives aimed at uniting the efforts of the global community on key environmental issues. Clear proof of this is the systematic proposal to establish a Regional Center for Technologies Related to Climate Change in Central Asia, as well as to develop a Special UN Program for the Aral Sea Basin.
Our country places special emphasis on introducing principles of the "green" economy, reducing carbon emissions into the environment, and developing renewable energy. A vivid example of the large-scale efforts in this domain is the regularly organized nationwide tree-planting campaigns, under which millions of saplings are planted annually, creating green belts around cities.
Thus, the participation of Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in high-level events in Baku and Yerevan stood as another striking example of Turkmenistan's high prestige as a responsible participant in global cooperation. The proposals and initiatives presented by the Head of State at the summits reaffirmed our country's readiness for broad international cooperation in the interest of environmental well-being and sustainable development both regionally and globally.
