NEW DICTIONARY PUBLISHED FOR HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
During the period of the Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State, as a result of the large-scale initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan, extensive cooperation with many countries around the world in political, economic, cultural, scientific, educational, and other spheres is developing in independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan. The scientific and educational system is reaching a new level of development, the quality of research conducted in priority scientific areas is constantly improving, scientific achievements are being actively introduced into production and all spheres of the state’s life, and highly qualified specialists are being trained.
Modern higher education institutions that meet the latest requirements are being built and commissioned in Turkmenistan. New specializations are being introduced at the country’s higher education institutions, and modern textbooks and teaching aids are being developed. With the introduction of new subjects into university curricula, words, terms, and concepts related to high-tech fields of knowledge are actively coming into use. This creates a need for bilingual and trilingual dictionaries that explain the meaning of such words, terms, and concepts used in foreign languages.
A new Russian-Turkmen-English Technological Dictionary has recently been published (authors: M. Penjiyev, G. Chonanov, B. Mammedov. Ashgabat: Ylym, 2026). The dictionary is intended for professionals working in engineering and technical fields, faculty members, and students of technical universities and vocational schools, as well as the general public.
