Meeting of the Ambassador of Turkmenistan with the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia

On January 31, 2024, a meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia D.Seyitmammedov and the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia R.Metreveli.

The purpose of the meeting was to develop and strengthen ties between Turkmenistan and Georgia in the field of scientific activity, familiarize themselves with the reforms being carried out in the countries, as well as with achievements in the academic system.

During the meeting, the Ambassador noted that this year the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi is solemnly celebrated at the international level, in connection with which 2024 in Turkmenistan has been declared the year - “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi”. Various high-level events are planned as part of the celebration.

In turn, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia expressed his readiness for further cooperation and proposed holding an international conference dedicated to Magtymguly Fragi. President of the Academy Roin Metreveli expressed confidence that such events will contribute to further study and widespread popularization in the world of the rich literary heritage of the great Turkmen poet-philosopher Magtymguly Fragi, as well as strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain ties between the Academies of Sciences of the two countries.
