THE NUMBER OF INTERNET USERS IN TURKMENISTAN EXCEEDED THREE MILLION

Currently, the number of Internet users in Turkmenistan has exceeded three million, which is more than 20% higher than in 2019. This was reported on the website of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
Particular attention is paid to increasing the transit capacity of the Internet stream, which is reflected in a tenfold increase in the total capacity of purchased international Internet channels over the past five years.
In addition, during the period from 2017 to 2022, the number of plastic card holders and Internet banking users in the country more than doubled. There has also been an impressive increase in the number of mobile banking users, their number has increased 65 times, reaching more than 60 thousand people.
These changes indicate positive results in promoting multi-sector digital solutions in Turkmenistan. According to the source, more than 48 billion manats were invested in the transport and communications industries from 2015 to 2021, which stimulated their rapid growth.
