Cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan is gaining momentum

On December 30, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Hero-Arkadag and the President of Uzbekistan exchanged heartfelt congratulations on the upcoming New Year, wishing the peoples of both countries peace, prosperity, and further development in 2025.

On this occasion, the Uzbek leader conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized that Turkmenistan considers mutually beneficial relations with its close neighbor and reliable partner, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as an important direction of its state foreign policy. Today, fruitful cooperation between the two countries is based on strong bonds of friendship and a firm political will to comprehensively strengthen interaction across various fields.

In this regard, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction that bilateral cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level of development in recent years.

It was noted that the current partnership between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan covers a wide range of areas. The vast untapped potential for cooperation was also highlighted, the realization of which will further strengthen mutually beneficial relations.

Additionally, significant attention was given to the importance of strengthening bilateral cultural and humanitarian ties.

During the conversation, it was noted that various cultural events were held in Uzbekistan in honor of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy, whose poetic legacy has become part of the treasury of world literature. This reflects the respect in the friendly country for the creative heritage of the outstanding poet and contributes to the further rapprochement and mutual enrichment of the cultures of the two neighboring peoples, who share common historical roots.

Hero-Arkadag reaffirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to further cooperate and support proposals and initiatives aimed at expanding the strategic partnership with fraternal Uzbekistan.

At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, once again congratulated each other on the New Year 2025, wishing good health, happiness, and success in their responsible state activities.
